MANSOURIA


This dance film is the fruit of the relationship between choreographer Josette Baïz, director Luc Riolon and the children of a school in the suburbs of Marseilles. The choreography, created during Baïz's residency at the school, uses music ranging from modern pop and rock to flamenco and Arab music, reflecting the multi racial mix of the pupils.

The school environment, the surrounding area of Marseilles, the beach and the Mediterranean itself provide the backdrop to the performances of the children from the Ecole de la Bricarde, who prove to be astonishingly gifted and professional.
