In the 1980s writer Douglas Adams (Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy) traveled the globe with zoologist Mark Carwardine in search of endangered animals. Twenty years later, the late Adams' great friend, Britain’s comic genius Stephen Fry, returns with Mark to see if the species are still in existence. The pair look for man-eating Komodo dragons, a flightless parrot, the Yangtze river dolphin, man's closest living relative, the pygmy chimpanzee and a bizarre creature that appears to have been assembled from pieces of other animals. Their journey is a unique insight into the disappearing animals of the world.
